New Patients

Getting Started

Here's what to expect as a new patient, what to bring to your first appointment, and how scheduling works.

How Scheduling Works

  1. Reach out by phone or email through our contact page with a brief description of what brings you in.
  2. Our office will follow up to confirm fit and find a time for your initial evaluation.
  3. After you reach out, our office will text or email you a secure link to complete your intake and consent forms before your first visit.
  4. You'll complete these forms in advance so your appointment time can be used for care, not paperwork.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation. Dr. Joy will discuss your current concerns, history, and goals for treatment in order to develop an individualized plan, which may include psychotherapy, medication management, or both.

What to Bring

  • A valid photo ID
  • A current list of medications and dosages
  • Relevant prior treatment records, if available
  • Insurance card, if you plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement
  • Any completed intake or consent forms sent to you in advance

This is a self-pay practice and does not accept Medicare. See Fees & Insurance for details on payment, out-of-network reimbursement, and the Good Faith Estimate provided to all patients.
